USTA/MIDWEST NOVEMBER VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Todd Hammond | Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Tennis Association proudly recognizes Todd Hammond as the USTA/Midwest Volunteer of the Month.

Todd is from Fond du Lac and has devoted time, effort, expertise and dedication to tennis throughout his life.  He was a high school tennis player and renewed his interest in tennis over 15 years ago when his young daughter, Katie (now 20) took her first tennis lessons.  From that point, tennis became a family sport with his wife, Pam and daughter, as well as a volunteer, leadership and teaching opportunity.

Todd has been a leading force in all aspects of tennis in Fond du Lac for over 11 years in every capacity for youth and adults:

  • Site Coordinator and Assistant in 308 Jr. Team Tennis league matches.
  • Volunteer for over 100 QuickStart camps, Family Nights, Park and Recreation Camps/programs, Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs Tennis Camps, YMCA class programs, Health Fairs, Community Wellness Nights,  and a Volunteer Pro at Milwaukee Summerfest Tennis Event.
  • Volunteer for 11 Wisconsin District Jr. Team Tennis Championships, 5 Wisconsin Adult State Championships, Greater Milwaukee Heyer Park Playoffs, 65 & Over Sectional Invitational in Kohler, Wisconsin.
  • Captain of seven Jr. Team Tennis teams who advanced to Sectional Championships in the 12’s, 14’s, 18’s divisions.
  • Adult League Player since 2003.  Team Captain in the NTRP, Mixed, Tri-Level and Combo divisions.
  • Leader and organizer of the “squeegee brigade” during 4 years of Girl’s High School season at their matches, tournaments and invitees, including many conference championships.
  • Hitting partner for several of the high caliber high school players
  • Fond du Lac Tennis Association
  • Assistant Tennis Coach for Fond du Lac High School Boy’s Team

When not on the tennis court, Todd has volunteered with ASTOP Sexual Abuse Center, PTO Member at several local schools, Band Booster Officer, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA and Kiwanis.  Todd’s “other” job is working as a Chemical Engineer for Grande Cheese.

Wisconsin District is most fortunate and grateful for all of Todd’s service and support of tennis.
