Think you can create the best McEnroe or Connors celebration to everyday life situations? We want to see it! We're asking you to submit short humorous videos, via Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, of yourself or others reacting to everyday situations in the fashion of either John McEnroe or Jimmy Connors. Maybe the situation is dismaying and requires a reaction similair to MacEnroe’s classic “You cannot be serious!” or perhaps it's something pleasing and needs a classic Jimmy Connors double-fist pump. Those imitating McEnroe should use the hashtag #ReactLikeMac and those imitating Connors should use #GimmieSomeJimmy.
This campaign celebrates the 30th anniversary of the “Super Saturday” at the U.S. Open, which occurred on September 8, 1984. On this day, Connors and McEnroe had a classic five set battle under the lights. Earlier that day, Ivan Lendl and Pat Cash also went five sets. The women’s final also occurred that day, in which Martina Navratilova beat Chris Evert in three sets. It is considered the single greatest day of play in tennis history.
