INDIANAPOLIS, IND. --- The USTA/Midwest Section announced today that local junior tennis player Canaan Sellers (age 10) from Rockville, Ind. has won the Section’s Fed Cup T-shirt design contest. The contest kicked off last month and is part of several activities planned in celebration of the first Fed Cup competition to take place in Ohio.

As the winner, Sellers receives four tickets to the Fed Cup event which takes place in Cleveland, Ohio, the weekend of Feb. 8-9, 2014. First round matches will feature reigning champion Italy vs. the United States at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium.

The USTA/Midwest Section will be hosting a number of events in the Cleveland area both prior to and during Fed Cup week. Sellers’ winning design will be featured on T-shirts which will be distributed at these community events.

Sellers has been playing tennis for several years and has been the recipient of three grants from the Midwest Youth Tennis & Education Foundation. Grants are awarded to junior players each year and are designed to assist them with indoor program and tournament expenses. This past year Sellers participated in 35 USTA tournaments.
