US Open National Playoffs Midwest Qualifiers Champions Katarina Milinkovi and Bartosz Jozwiak of Northbrook, Illinois are in New Haven, Conn. competing in the 2014 US Open National Playoffs - Mixed Doubles Championship. The winner of the US Open National Playoffs - Mixed Doubles Championship advances to the mixed doubles main draw of the 2014 US Open, held Aug. 25 – Sept. 8, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
The Depaul alumni agreed to share their journey as they fight for a berth onto tennis' biggest stage. During their downtime the duo enjoys watching the pro WTA tournament in town and practicing in between. Recently Katarina got to see her great friend from Serbia, Bojana Jovanovski (#35 WTA), who played in the Connecticut Open and got to practice with her as well. They also got to meet James Blake and Jim Courirer, the tennis legends of USA.

Katarina Milinkovic (SRB)
Age: 25; Hometown: Northbrook, IL
Milinkovic was three-time all-Big East Conference at DePaul, where she was a 2011 ITA Scholar Athlete and won 171 matches. She was a member of the national team in her native Serbia.
Bartosz Jozwiak (POL)
Age: 25; Hometown: Northbrook, IL
Jozwiak was also an all-Big Easter performer at DePaul and also a 2011 ITA Scholar Athlete; he won 155 matches in his collegiate career. He grew up in Poland, where he was a standout junior.
