Paul MacDonald Named USTA/Midwest September Volunteer of the Month

The Chicago District Tennis Association (CDTA) is proud to honor Paul MacDonald as the month’s featured volunteer.

Paul MacDonald is the Director of Tennis employed by WTS International at Schaumburg Tennis Plus in Schaumburg. He is a USPTA Master Professional, a Member of the Midwest USPTA Hall of Fame and a graduate of the USTA High Performance Coaching Program. Paul is a frequent Speaker at Midwest USPTA and USPTA World Conferences.

He currently serves on the CDTA Board of Directors, is the Chair of the CDTA High Performance Committee, Chair of the USTA/Midwest Junior Pathway Committee, Coach of the USTA/Midwest Team at the Boys 18s National Team Championships (National Champions for the second year in a row and third in the last six years) at the National Team Championship, and a member of the USTA National Junior Competition and Sportsmanship Committee.

During 2014, Paul is the tournament director for six 10 and Under Earned Advancement Orange Ball Tournaments, three Midwest Level 5 tournaments, One Midwest Level 2 Tournament, two Midwest Championships and three age divisions of the Chicago Championships (Qualifier).

Paul played collegiate tennis at DePaul University where he was coached by Wimbledon Champion George Lott. He then played European club tennis on the Erster Kieler Tennis and Hockey Club team, Bad Hofgastien Club and Bendesdorf Club teams. His competitive tennis is now fulfilled by playing National Father Daughter tournaments with his two daughters.
