Enthusiastic, energetic and driven are just some of the ways to describe volunteer Patricia Wiley of Southfield, Michigan.
As founder of Inform Yourself Youth Development Company, Pat is always looking for programs to inspire today’s youth and tennis has been on her radar for the past several years. Her offerings range from Play Days, Summer Camps, After-School programs and Story Lady Tennis (where tennis fundamentals are taught to pre-schoolers through stories).
With no background in tennis, Pat’s training came through workshops, both on-court and online. She tries to incorporate tennis in her other areas of involvement with youth such as Angels in Action, a drinking prevention program and Youth Entrepreneurship, a program to build leadership and creativity.
Pat teaches STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for the 21st Century After School Program and Tennis at Capstone Academy, in Detroit, Mich. Her dream is to form an NJTL that would serve youth in many ways, including tennis!
