APRIL VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH
Parker's Tennis Camp Coaches | Toledo, Ohio

Sixteen years ago, Ethel Parker founded the Parker's Tennis Camp in Toledo, Ohio. She and her team of coaches selflessly volunteer their time reaching out and introducing the sport of a lifetime to children ages 5-12.
Coach Rich Robinson has worked with children ages 5-10 years of age for the past four years instilling the basic fundamental foundation of tennis. They work with the smaller nets, red and orange balls and smaller racquets sized just right for kids.
Coach Gary Dougherty has been coaching for four years as well with the 10-12 age group. He focuses on self discipline and persistence in addition to the basic skills of the sport.
Ethel not only works with the children, but she is also responsible for getting women to play tennis starting at the 2.5 level, and now has multiple teams of 3.0 level women playing USTA League Tennis.
She is quite proud that her camp had 13 former participants who went on and have attended college on tennis scholarships over the years.
The Northwestern Ohio Tennis Board of Directors congratulates the Parker's Tennis Camp coaches for their efforts in developing tennis players and growing the sport of tennis in Northwest Ohio. Keep up the great work you all do.
