Michigan Captures 9th Midwest Tennis on Campus Championship

32 teams descended upon Madison, WI for the Midwest Tennis on Campus Championships, where eight teams sealed a bid to Tennis on Campus National Championship April 14-16 in Cary, North Carolina The University of Michigan took the title after knocking off defending champions Wisconsin in the Finals. Marquette finished third, while Northwestern placed fourth.

Joining the Wolverines, Badgers, Golden Eagles and Wildcats at Nationals will be Ohio State and DePaul, who finished fifth and sixth, respectivley. Michigan won the Spring Invitation in in 2015 to earn an automatic bid to Nationals in 2016, so their Top 5 bid was extended to sixth place DePaul. The Illinois Institute of Technology, who won the Midwest Tennis on Campus Club Team of the Year award and the University of Illinois Chicago, who was named the Sportsmanship winner for the tournament, also earned bids to Nationals.
