Jerry Morse-Karzen and son Brett Morse-Karzen, from Wilmette, Illinois, won their seventh United States Tennis Association National Father & Son Clay Court Championship at the Cincinnati Tennis Club on July 24.
The highest ranked Father & Son team in the country defeated No. 8 seeds Peter and Tanner Smith, from Los Alamitos, CA, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
The win for the Morse-Karzens team marks their second national title this month and 17th national title overall. Jerry and Brett won the National Father & Son Grass Court Championship in Boston earlier this month.
This was Jerry’s 14th appearance and the 11th for Brett. Jerry won the Cincinnati tournament twice with his father.
More than 35 teams from all over the country competed in the three-day tournament, which was held at the Cincinnati Tennis Club for the 38th straight year.
