Board of Directors Candidate Information

Would you enjoy the opportunity to help grow tennis in Northern Illinois?  Are you interested in developing partnerships with other community based organizations to bring tennis into the lives of young children or those kids or adults that need a great lifetime sport as a healthy alternative to video games or never ending computer work?

The USTA/Northern Illinois District (NITA) represents tennis players in 25 counties in the northern third of the state. We help promote great USTA programs including adult and junior programs, 10 & Under Youth Progression, USTA Adult League play, USTA sanctioned tournament play, adaptive and wheelchair tennis, USTA workshops and clinics, and many other ever changing USTA programs.

The Northern Illinois District is looking for tennis enthusiasts who have at least a few hours a month throughout the year to help plan and promote the growth and expansion of tennis programs.  Candidates should have a strong background or expertise in more than one area of USTA programming, think globally in all decisions as to what is best for tennis in the district overall, and be a strong advocate of USTA programs.

The Board of Directors, which includes both officers and at-large directors, typically meets primarily via conference calls.  Interest forms for Board of Director positions should be completed and returned by February 15th, 2017 as a slate for expansion Directors will be voted on before the end of February this year.   Give back to the game you love!
