The USTA/Midwest Section 4.0 Women captured the national championship title at the 2011 USTA Adult League National Championships, held from Sep. 23-25, at the Jim Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz. This year’s USTA League 4.0 Adult National Championship has drawn the top 34 teams (17 men’s and 17 women’s) from throughout the nation.
 
The Midwest team from Mishawaka, Ind. defeated a group representing the Mid-Atlantic Section from Richmond, Va. 3-2, in an exciting final match, which came down to a tough doubles match. Earlier in the day, they defeated a team from the New England Section in the semifinal round.
 
The Midwest team is captained by Alice Cooper and teammates include Melissa Cleveland, Kathleen Anthony, Gina Anderson, Tiffiny Schwartz, LeighAnne Roberts, Alaina Roberts, Janet Brooks and Lis Corrigan and plays at the South Bend Racquet Club.
 
The Southern Section women picked up third place with a victory over the New England Section team.
